IUB Homecoming Fashion Show Auditions

Traditional Programs

When: Monday, August 31 – Wednesday, September 2  starting at 5PM each day

Where: Illini Union Room 314

The IUB Homecoming Fashion Show is looking for models of all sizes, ethnicities and gender.  Models must be currently enrolled U of I students (enrollment will be verified).  Ladies should bring heels.  Gentlemen should wear shoes, no sandals.  Models will be expected to attend rehearsals multiple nights a week (Sunday, Tuesday & Wednesday) during the first 6 weeks weeks of the Fall semester.  Previous runway experience is preferred but not required.  IUB Homecoming Fashion Show will be held on Friday, October 9 at Foellinger Auditorium starting at 9pm.  Applications will be available in the IUB Office (227 Illini Union) at the beginning of the Fall semester.

Synopsis: Set in Manhattan's West Side/Hell's Kitchen in the mid-1950s, the musical explores the rivalry between two teenage gangs of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. The young protagonist, Tony, who belongs to the White gang, falls in love with Maria, the sister of the leader of the rival Puerto Rican gang. Featuring: An Evening with Katelynn Cusanelli and JD Ordonez of MTV's Real World: Brooklyn.  Katelynn was the first cast member to be openly transgendered and discussed her experiences throughout this season with other cast members while also volunteering at a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center in NY.  JD, hailing from Miami, left his world of training dolphins to join the Real World cast in Brooklyn where he also participated in many activities at the LGBT Community Center along with fellow cast mate Katelynn, while also opening up with this season’s cast about growing up in a single-parent home and putting himself through college.
